All our web applications are built on our hosted development platform, and require no software to be installed on the desktop. We manage server infrastructure, database administration and all the other technical heavy lifting.
Content management
A full range of web content management library services is built into our platform, including:
The core content repository used in our applications is an Oracle RDBMS, under an XML-based application layer. We use XSLT for document transformation and for writing custom user interface screens.
Lucene search
Our search framework is based on Lucene and allows for full-text search of web pages, asset metadata and some asset content (eg. PDF files). Complex filtering and sorting criteria can be used to return contextual search results.
Web services
Our REST-based API allows simple integration with external web services and other systems. We can write bespoke web services for specific use cases, or code feed parsers for integrating with legacy systems.
PHP and JSP
Front-end code for customer web applications can be developed in either PHP or JSP.
Ajax
We use Ajax techniques to optimise user experience where applicable. Our favoured Javascript library is the Yahoo! UI library.
Web standards
We support efforts towards web standardization wherever we can.
