Web developer

We are currently looking for a talented web developer.

You should have experience of working with web based APIs and frameworks, a good working knowledge of PHP and Javascript, as well as the ability to code HTML and CSS to W3 standards.

Experience in using JQuery, SQL, e-commerce platforms and payment gateways, video streaming, Google Analytics, Amazon S3 and version control systems would all be useful additional skills. It would be good if you weren't afraid to dive into a *nix shell.

We also code in Ruby on Rails and although this is not a role for a Rails developer if you have those skills you'll probably get to use them and if you don't you may well get to learn some. As a small company with some large clients we are always interested in hiring people who can bring additionally skills, technical or otherwise to the role, so if you are applying do let us know what you think your special talents might be.

We are looking for someone smart and self motivated who can work both alone and as part of a wider team as well as someone who isn't afraid to take initiative or suggest new ideas. We'd like someone who documents their code well and tests it properly, has a keen eye for detail and pride in their work.

When applying for this position you will need to show examples of your own work or technical interests, for example websites that you have personally built or had an identifiable involvement in, your GitHub account or an active blog about web development.
If you have a blog about Kinder egg toys or South American signposts, then sure we'd love to see that too, we're all for well rounded people, but that alone probably won't get you the job.

Within this role you'll be working on a range of interesting customer projects which includes the official website for the London 2012 games.
